Kaitlyn M. Ulmer: A Poem

The third in an ongoing series of Poetry from Parkside’s brilliant English faculty members, here is a poem by Kaitlyn M. Ulmer:

I am and always will be a student. I study the way hands join together and fall apart. How bodies pray together and curse each other. I study eyes that blink and mouths that don’t. I study sounds that come from orifices, above and below. I taste secretions sour and sweet. I study surfaces and spaces. I touch and smell and hold. I have studied many things.

But you are my life-long fascination, and always will be.
